Locking down AD replication topology

You know the score - when setting up intra-site and inter-site replication in Active Directory, you should delete the automatic connections, and create your own, specifying your own required replication intervals and periods etc. So you do that, get everything set just how you like it, take a look the next day, and you see those words again - "Automatically Generated". How do you stop it?? It frustrated me for a while, links popping into existence where I didn't want them. Finally, I found the way to disable the KCC (Knowledge Consistency Checker) from creating those unwanted links. Once you get the hang of LDP, you find it's a brilliant tool (you'll find it in the Admin Tools pack referred to in the article below), and very easy to use - as with the registry though, heed those Microsoft warnings!!!
