Active Directory Operations Guide One of the most common questions an Active Directory administrator might ask? : "How do I do this in Active Directory?". Well here's the answer. Microsoft have produced this wonderful guide on how to do pretty much anything to Active Directory. I've been a little concerned over the past few days, about the consistency of our Active Directory database, so I thought "How do I check the database in Active Directory, and how do I fix it if there are errors?". I found this site, found the right article, and I was away. The database integrity check was fine, so I ran a Semantic database check. This reported "inconsistent refcounts detected". I then used the command "Go Fixup", and it fixed the errors!! Of course I've now got to check the databases of all our domain controllers, which are spread over a fairly large geographical area, so my work is cut out for me, but at least I know exactly how to do it, and trust me, that's more than half the battle!!
