Getting rid of the "Delete Block? No (Yes)" confirmation in Word

I've had an annoying issue with Microsoft Word on my home PC over the past few weeks. Whenever I selected a block of text or pictures etc, then pressed the delete key, they wouldn't delete. I resorted to deleting one character/item at a time. Then I noticed a little prompt in the bottom left corner of my Word window when hitting delete - "Delete Block? No (Yes)". Pressing Y did the trick, and the block promptly vanished. I scoured the help, and Microsoft Office Online, but could find nothing. There were no easily identifiable menu options or checkboxes in the program options to help me. That's when a quick "Google" found me my answer : It's related to compatibility for WordPerfect users. In the Tools/Options dialogue, on the General tab, there are two checkboxes labelled "Help for WordPerfect users" and "Navigation keys for WordPerfect users". My "Navigation" checkbox was ticked. Clearing this did the trick, and I can now delete at will. I suppose I should have figured this out, because I was a user of WordPerfect more years ago than I care to remember, but I guess as Homer (not the Greek) says : "Every time I learn something new, some old stuff leaks out".
